A new book that looks very intriguing:
“Women, Money and the Law: Nineteenth-Century Fiction, Gender, and the Courts,” by Joyce W. Warren. (University of Iowa Press, 2008)
Some of the chapters that caught my attention: “The Woman Plaintiff”, “The Woman Defendant” and “The Economics of Divorce”.
I’ll look out for reviews of this work.
